CIMA Minimum Entry Requirements
CIMA minimum entry requirements are simply basic competence in English and Mathematics. Yes that is all you need to study CIMA. See below for detailed CIMA entry requirements for each CIMA level.
CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting: Certificate Level

CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting: Operational Level
CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting or Exemptions for the entire certificate level
CIMA Exemptions can be based on:
ICB Diploma NQF Level 5 or 6
Degree or National Diploma from a recognized institution or qualifying body
CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting: Management Level
CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting or Exemptions for the entire Operational level
CIMA Exemptions can be based on:
Degree or National Diploma from a recognized institution or qualifying body
CIMA Professional/ Masters Gateway route (If you have passed professional exams from other bodies like ACCA, SAICA etc.
CIMA Strategic Level:
CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting or Exemptions for the entire Management level
CIMA Exemptions can be based on:
SAICA Membership
Degree or National Diploma from a recognized institution or qualifying body

What degrees are considered for CIMA Exemptions?
Undergraduate and postgraduate degrees not found in the exemptions database are considered for exemptions.
If you have studied outside of the UK we will use the UK National Recognition Information Centre to determine how your qualification compares.
Qualifications must be comparable to at least a UK certificate of higher education to be considered for exemptions.
