CIPS Professional Diploma in Procurement & Supply

The CIPS Level 6 Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply is the final level qualification required by those who are working towards Membership of the Chartered Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) Professional status and designation, which are recognised worldwide as the professional standards for procurement and supply practitioners. It is for those who want to specialise in the procurement and supply profession.

Applicants for MCIPS must complete the CIPS Diploma, Advanced Diploma and this Professional Diploma in procurement and supply and must also exhibit at least 3 years’ experience in a relevant position of responsibility in the procurement and supply discipline. Successful applicants may use the designatory letters MCIPS after their name.

The qualification will prepare learners for work by giving them the opportunity to develop sector-specific knowledge, technical and practical skills, and to apply these skills in work-related environments. Learners will develop skills and knowledge in key areas of procurement and supply including strategic ethical leadership, global communications, and strategic supply chain management and will also have an opportunity to consider future challenges for the profession.

The qualification also provides progression for those learners who have been successful on the CIPS Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply.

CIPS Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply – Get Started

To get started with the CIPS Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply you will need to have achieved the CIPS Level 5 Diploma in Procurement and Supply, complete our student enrolment form via this link:  and then pay your annual fees. We will then carry out the necessary admin processes on your behalf. CIPS will then confirm your studies as well as the study programme and syllabus you will follow. Alternatively, you can do all these steps on your own via the CIPS website and then fill in the enrollment form to get started with your CIPS tuition exam preparation classes with us.

 

CIPS Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply Exams

To attain the CIPS Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply qualification you are required to attain a total of 60 credits i.e., complete the four core modules and three elective modules. One credit is equivalent to 10 hours of study.

All the core exams (L6M1, L6M2, L6M3 & L6M4) at this level take the Constructive Response format (essay type) and all the Elective modules exams (L6M5, L6M7, L6M8, L6M9, L6M10) are in an Objective Response format. The pass mark for the core exams is at least 50% and the results are graded as follows: • Distinction 75 – 100% • Merit 60 – 74% • Pass 50 – 59% • Fail 0 – 49%. The pass mark for Objective Response format exams is at least 70%

CIPS Diploma in Procurement and Supply Exemptions

Exemptions for some modules may be applicable under the CIPS Exemption policy therefore depending on the nature and extent of your prior learning, you may be eligible for exemptions from one or more individual exams/ modules of this level. If you have failed a CIPS assessment for a particular module you are not permitted to apply for an exemption against this module for a period of two years from the date of the failed assessment.

 

For the CIPS Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply, only a maximum of 36 credits can be granted as exemptions and only a maximum of 18 credits can be awarded against Elective modules. Qualifications awarded by non-UK institutions will be considered if they are recognised by the National Recognition Information Centre for the United Kingdom (NARIC) as being equivalent to UK HE qualifications – check your qualification on www.naric.org.uk.
